New England Patriots linebacker Bobby Carpenter has reinvigorated his career by finding his niche as a top coverage LB who primarily plays in sub-packages for the Pats. He has a long-flowing mane of blond hair that is due for a trim.
The Boston Herald asked Bobby Carpenter if he plans on getting a haircut, and the former Ohio State star said, “We’ll see. I know it’ll make my wife happy when I do. It’ll come off one day. I’m just not sure when.’’
That sounds like the opposite of what Tom Brady was going through, because his wife liked the long hairstyle. Carpenter is known for his long hair, but his hair is sticking out of his helmet.
As Carpenter said, “We’ll see” if he decides to cut it off or even trim his hair. The Herald notes that another former Buckeye linebacker in A.J. Hawk recently cut off his long, blond hair.
As for real football stuff, NE Patriots Draft writes that Carpenter allowed all three passes thrown at him to be caught for 24 yards, including the eight-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Sammie Stroughter. Just a rough day at the office for a linebacker who is usually more tidy in pass coverage.
WEEI has a list of Patriots who have been penalized, and one linebacker is on that list for a 15-yard face mask. However, the speedy veteran LB was not the culprit, as it was Jerod Mayo who recorded the penalty for the only penalty made by a Pats linebacker.
