At 7:30 p.m. ET, the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will square off in the third preseason game in front of an estimated crowd of nearly 66,000 occupants at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The skies are currently clear with a temperature around 90 degrees, which is good news considering Hurricane Isaac is on his way.

You can watch this game on WBZ-TV- available in all New England state and Hawaii- and you can also tune into 98.5 The Sports Hub where Gil Santos and Scott Zolak will call this game.

Greg M. Cooper-US PRESSWIRE

There is a lot of mutual respect between Bill Belichick and Greg Schiano, even though both head coaches are in completely different situations. Belichick is the best coach in the game and is looking to take the Pats to the Super Bowl, while Schiano is a first-year NFL coach from Rutgers who is just trying to clean the Bucs up after a terrible 2011 season. Belichick has a lot of respect for the Rutgers program, while Schiano has a huge amount of respect for the Pats coach as well. The respect is mutual for both parties.

But enough of that. Both of these teams are 1-1 in the preseason and are still closely looking at the players chomping at the bit for a spot on the 53-man roster.

Although Schiano was non-committal on how much his starters would play in this game, he did say that he hopes they play into the second-half. Running back LeGarrette Blount’s injury isn’t serious, so he’s a full go. However, E.J. Biggers, Da’Quan Bowers, Arrelious Benn, and Anthony Gaitor will not be playing for the Bucs.

Wes Welker, Jabar Gaffney, Sebastian Vollmer, Patrick Chung, Tracy White, Matt Kopa, Ross Ventrone, Visanthe Schiancoe, Will Allen, and Gerard Warren are all expected to be out for the New England Patriots.
