Training camp brings hope and optimism to all NFL teams and especially to New England, where the Patriots will look to bounce back from a difficult-to-endure finish to their 2011 season.

“My personality was controlled last year. You didn’t hear me at all last year. Zero. Zilch. When my mouth is running, it forces me to perform. It’s never been vindictive. I never got anybody in trouble. … When I can be me, I am loose. Everything just flows for me, whether it’s the style of play, the way I learn.”

The Super Bowl this season returns to New Orleans for the first time since Hurricane Katrina. It’s the first Roman Numeral Game in the Superdome since the upstart Patriots ran onto the field as one and defeated the Greatest Show on Turf on Feb. 3, 2002.

Today is a day Patriots fans have been waiting for since that heart-breaking February night in Indianapolis – the official start of a new season.
