Pats sign LB Bobby Carpenter

Yet another Patriots defensive signing! The Patriots have signed LB Bobby Carpenter from the Lions. Carpenter was a first round selection by Dallas in 2006 but he has failed to live up to his hype. The positives of this signing, however, are that he has experience playing in a 3-4 and 4-3 defensive scheme which will be an asset, and that he is young at 28. As we have seen in the past, the Patriots have a way of bringing out the best in players that have previously failed to live up to expectations. Hopefully this will be the case with Carpenter and he can be a huge asset to the defense.

Versatile and smart, two Patriot cornerstones. Lets hope we get more “Corey Dillon” than “Albert Hayneworth”.
