A Bit About Spencer Larsen

Free agents just seem to be flying at our faces right now in New England! We know most of the more familiar names (Stallworth, Lloyd…), but then there are those certain players that fly below the radar. There are those players that fans may not go crazy about, but the organizations certainly do. Spencer Larsen appears to be one of those players.

I asked Kim Constantinesco, Editor of, what we Patriots fans can expect from a guy like Larsen. Here’s what she had to say:

You got a great player in Spencer Larsen, and I’m sure Josh McDaniels was the catalyst to this signing.

Larsen can play fullback, linebacker, and special teams and you can’t put a price tag on having a guy like that. Of course, that makes him invaluable in games, but it’s also extremely beneficial on the practice field. Being able to contribute in all three phases is a testament to his football IQ.  Last season Larsen played fullback in about a quarter of the Broncos plays. His largest contribution was used on special teams. He will be a workhorse and push others to get better.

Versatile, hard-working and gives us great depth? Yup, this guy found the right team.
