Patriots’ TE Rob Gronkowski underwent successful ankle surgery earlier today. Gronk needed surgery on his ankle because there was ligament damage. It was reported before the Super Bowl that Gronk had a high ankle sprain, yet he played in the big game last Sunday. He wasn’t the same Gronk, but he did catch two passes for 26 yards.

He’s expected to be fully recovered by the time the team starts organized team activities (OTA’s) in the spring.
