We’re a mere day away from the New England Patriots-Baltimore Ravens AFC championship clash, and the “experts” have turned in their picks for the game. Here’s a collection of experts’ picks, with Musket Fire making its picks for both conferences’ championship game later today:
Six out of the eight analysts pick the Patriots to win. Albert Breer (formerly of the Boston Globe) and Adam Rank pick the Ravens.
ESPN/ESPN Boston
ESPN Boston has a roundup of its picks and ESPN’s picks posted HERE. Out of the 22 total analysts that made picks, 21 pick the Patriots. Only Seth Wickersham picked the Ravens. I don’t know if having most of ESPN picking you to win is a good thing…
All 5 of the CBSSports.com NFL writers pick the Patriots. All 5 also pick the Giants to win the NFC, setting up a 2007 Super Bowl rematch.
Pro Football Talk (NBC Sports)
Mike Florio and Gregg Rosenthal both pick the Patriots to win.
Is it a good thing or a bad thing that most of the “experts” are picking the Patriots? You wouldn’t know that the Patriots are the majority pick listening to Boston sports radio during the week, where the sky is always falling. Personally, I’d prefer if most picked the Ravens. The “us against them” theme has always been a favorite of mine and was a big force driving the team back in the early 2000′s Super Bowl era.
What do you think? Good or bad to have all of the pundits in your corner?
