The Jacksonville Jaguars travel to Atlanta to face the Falcons in another week of Thursday night football action on NFL Network. The Jags have had some upheaval recently with the firing of now former head coach Jack Del Rio and the placement of Mel Tucker as interim head coach. The Falcons are fighting for their playoff lives at 8-5 and the 10-3 New Orleans Saints leading their division. The Falcons best hope for the playoffs is a wild card berth, and they are currently in competition with the Detroit Lions, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, and Arizona Cardinals for one of the two available wild card spots. They can ill afford a slip up against the Jaguars, especially with the Saints next up on the schedule.
So who’s going to win?
Staff writer Ryan Hannable and I both like the Falcons to win tonight. There’s too much at stake to afford a loss to a team they should beat. Matt Ryan got hot in the second half of the game last week against the Panthers. Look for that hot streak to continue this week as the Falcons build some momentum heading into the postseason.
