Thursday Night Football is in full swing on the NFL Network, and tonight’s contest bears close scrutiny fro Patriots fans as the New York Jets travel to Mile High take on the Denver Broncos. The Jets are coming off a 37-16 loss to the Pats Sunday and have a quick turnaround, playing on the road at Mile High. The Broncos defeated their division rival, the Kansas City Chiefs, this past Sunday to improve to 4-5 and are in a three-way tie at second place in the AFC West. Only the Oakland Raiders have a better record in that division, albeit at 5-4. The Jets are 5-4 and have to win to try and stay in contention in the AFC East after being swept by the Pats.
Both staff writer Ryan Hannable and I like the Jets to take this game. Despite the quick turnaround and big emotional letdown losing to the Patriots, the Jet defense will be too much for Tim Tebow to overcome. Rex Ryan can leave Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie one-on-one on the receivers and devote extra resources to stopping Tebow from scrambling around and making plays with his feat. Expect the box to be loaded and Ryan to focus solely on stopping the Denver rushing attack. The Jets offense will be good enough to put up enough points to win, which may not have to be that many.
Be sure to tune in on Saturday for the rest of our Week 11 game picks.
