The team that nobody has talked about in the AFC East may be ready to enter the conversation. The Buffalo Bills dominated the defending AFC West champion Kansas City Chiefs, holding them to just one touchdown and hanging 41 points on their defense. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick went 17/26 for 208 yards, 4 touchdowns, and an interception. WR Steve Johnson had 4 catches for 66 yards and a TD while WR David Nelson matched Johnson in catches and yards. TE Scott Chandler had 5 catches for 63 yards and 2 touchdowns. RB Fred Jackson led the way on the ground with 112 yards on 20 and C.J. Spiller added a 9-yard TD run. DB Bryan Scott led the Bills with 8 tackles and a sack while SS George Wilson added 5 tackles and a forced fumble. DB Drayton Florence picked off Chiefs QB Matt Cassel.
The Buffalo defense held Cassel to 119 yards passing and a touchdown. They also kept the Chiefs’ potent rushing attack in check, holding Jamaal Charles and Dexter McCluster to under 100 yards combined. If Patriots fans have been looking past the Buffalo Bills, they may want to think twice, as should fans of the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets.
