4 Patriots Make Michael Lombardi’s 53-Man Dream Team

With NFL teams cutting down their roster over the past weekend, and the continued tweaking that is done afterwards, NFL Network’s Michael Lombardi decided to make his own 53-man roster. This roster is what he considers to be a “dream team” roster, but what is interesting with this list is that he used each player’s base salary and had his team fit under the $121 million salary cap. Therefore, he couldn’t just throw together a fantasy football team with Tom Brady as his starter and Aaron Rodgers as his back-up (or vice-versa if you’re a Packers fan).

Four Patriots made Lombardi’s 53-man roster.

Here are the Pats that made it, along with whether he picked them as a starter and their base salary:

  • QB Tom Brady, starter ($5,750,000 base salary)
  • TE Rob Gronkowski, starter ($405,000 base salary)
  • OT Sebastian Vollmer, backup ($510,000 base salary)
  • CB Devin McCourty, starter ($450,000 base salary)
