Jeff Howe of NESN.com went through all of the injuries and missed practices by active players on the Patriots and found that there’s a sizable increase compared to last training camp.
Injuries are always a major storyline throughout the season, and they’ve taken their toll in Foxboro. Thirty-six players on the Patriots’ current roster have missed a total of 304 practices due to presumed injuries or other issues.
Last year, by comparison, 27 players missed at least one practice due to injury. The Patriots’ 2010 training camp consisted of 25 practices, including 17 in full pads, three in shorts and shells and five walkthroughs.
Howe concludes that despite the absence of padded two-a-days, injuries are up due to the lockout. It’s an interesting read. To see the complete list of players who have missed at least one practice due to injury and read the rest of Howe’s analysis, click HERE.
