Recently on NFL Network, ex-teammates Kurt Warner and Tory Holt put together a Top 5 list of the best quarterback/wide receiver combinations in the NFL right now. The Patriots, who seem to make their way onto every “top” list one way or another, are represented on this list as well. Tom Brady and Wes Welker came in at #2 on the list. Last season, Brady and Welker hooked up 86 times for 848 yards and 7 touchdowns. Since coming to New England, we’ve seen Brady-to-Welker 321 times for 3,371 yards and 19 touchdowns.
Who beat out Brady and Welker?
Here’s the complete list, and you can watch the video HERE.
5. Michael Vick and DeSean Jackson (Eagles)
4. Matt Ryan and Roddy White (Falcons)
3. Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne (Colts)
2. Tom Brady and Wes Welker (Patriots)
1. Aaron Rodgers and Greg Jennings (Packers)
I can’t see how Rodgers and Jennings are#1 on this list when they haven’t connected with each other nearly as often as Brady and Welker, or other combinations for that matter. How is Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson not here? I think the Rodgers and Jennings are benefitting from being Super Bowl champions here. Perhaps they will be #1 in the future, but right now, I don’t think so.
