Tonight at 8 p.m. will mark the culmination of the NFL Network’s “Top 100 Players” series with players 1-10 announced. This list was voted on by the NFL players themselves, and four Patriots already making the list: Jerod Mayo at #62, Wes Welker at #50, Logan Mankins at #39, and Vince Wilfork at #35. We know that QB Tom Brady will appear somewhere in the top 10 tonight, and we know that Ravens LB Ray Lewis will be doing the video presentation on Brady.
We know the feeling in New England is that Brady is #1, but where will he actually land on the players’ list?
NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks has been compiling his own “Top 100″ list, and he has already released his top 10. Tom Brady is #1 in Brooks’ list. Brooks said this of Brady:
No matter what criteria is used to determine the best quarterback in the game, Brady is at the top of the list. He has three Super Bowl rings (in four tries), two Super Bowl MVPs, six Pro Bowl appearances and is a two-time first-team All Pro. His winning pedigree also is reflected in his penchant for delivering outstanding performances in the clutch. Brady orchestrated last minute game-winning drives in two Super Bowl wins and has a laundry list of late-game heroics to cement his status as the game’s top player.
Will Brady be #1 tonight? We’ll all have to tune in and find out! I’ll have a re-cap posted tonight after Brady’s video presentation just in case you miss it or you do not get NFL Network.
