Elliot Harrison from NFL.com revisited the argument as to who the team of the 2000’s is after the Pittsburgh Steelers just went to another Super Bowl, albeit in a losing effort. The New England Patriots and the Steelers are considered the top two teams that have a claim to the “Team of the 2000’s” title. Combined, the two teams have been to seven Super Bowls since 2000, winning five of those contests (Patriots 3, Steelers 2). That’s a pretty big chunk of the previous decade. Doing some statistical analysis, factoring in the regular season in addition to the championships, the Pats edge out the Steelers despite not winning a title since 2004.
