Woodhead’s Quest for Madden 12 Cover Ends

A cover that never will be.

For the past few weeks, Musket Fire has been following Patriots RB Danny Woodhead’s progress through the online fan voting tournament to name a new cover boy for Madden 2012. Through the tournament, Woodhead toppled Buffalo’s Steve Johnson and the Giants’ Hakeem Nicks to move on to the Elite Eight, and a one-on-one match with the Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers. Toppling Green Bay’s Super Bowl hero was to be no easy task, and unfortunately, New England’s Mighty Mouse came up short. Rodgers edged out Woodhead 56% to 44%.

Perhaps, for Woodhead and Patriots fans, that’s not a bad thing. The fortunes of those that graced the cover of Madden video games have not been good, and many fell victim to the Madden curse. If you’re depressed about Woodhead losing in the tournament, perhaps reading the fate of former cover boys will cheer you up, and you can do that HERE.
