Silver Lining to the Patriots’ Season

My latest article for Blog Blitz has been posted and in it, I discuss the silver lining of clouds that hover around New England since the Patriots lost to the Jets Sunday. The silver lining is the fact that the Patriots were 14-2 in what was truly a rebuilding year. Here is an excerpt from the article:

Heading into training camp with all of the new faces, the Patriots were looked at as a team in transition. This was a rebuilding year, and expectations were low. Analysts had the Pats everywhere from 8-8 to 11-5 at best. They were listed by many in the sports media as finishing out of the top ten in the NFL and would be lucky to be a Wild Card team, if they made the playoffs at all. Some had them even finishing behind the Jets and the Dolphins within their own division. A slew of key injuries on training camp didn’t inspire any confidence as well.
