Brady and Belichick on the Shame Report

NFL Network personality Dave Dameshek does a weekly piece called the “Shame Report” where he basically points out things teams or players did extraordinarily wrong or foolish and “shames” them. It’s kind of a cross between ESPN’s “C’mon Man,” football follies, and a bad stand-up comedic act. After losing Sunday in the playoffs to the New York Jets, two New England Patriots found themselves  on Dameshek’s “Shame Report” at numbers one and two. Tom Brady was “shame” number two and Bill Belichick was “shame” number one.

Tom Brady is great, but as I’ve said over the years, he becomes thoroughly mediocre when he has to run around,” Dameshek says before likening Brady in his cold weather wetsuit to Buzz Lightyear. Now, Dameshek doesn’t lay the entire offense’s performance on Brady, and he uses that to segway to number one. His “Brown Paper Bag of Shame” went to Belichick at number one. He credits Belichick with calling the fake punt (though Pat Chung took responsibility for it) and criticized Belichick for benching Wes Welker, which is a legitimate gripe. He then states that Emperor Palpatine from the Star Wars movies smiles more than Belichick does and then makes a statement that’s sure to rile up Patriots fans.

I know it’s been 7 years since your last title, but you can always go and watch those Super Bowls on video,” Dameshek exclaims, “you’re into that sort of thing, right?” Obviously, he was referring to the infamous SpyGate ordeal. Ouch. Nothing like rubbing some salt into a fresh wound!

What do you guys think? Are Belichick and Brady “shame-worthy”?

So Should Brady play in the Pro Bowl? I am thinking it would be best to sit it out and just rest. No need to aggravate anything over a silly/pointless game!

The latest I’ve heard is that Brady will not play in the Pro Bowl due to the surgery he is having to repair the stress fracture in his foot. I’ve also heard that his replacement will be Matt Cassel.
