The New England Patriots, according to the online betting website Bodog.com, have been named the favorites to win Super Bowl XLV, for what that’s worth. The odds are 9/2 that the Pats win the big game. The next closest teams are the Saints and Eagles at 9/1 odds. Strangely enough, the Atlanta Falcons, the team with the best record in the NFC (10-2), face longer odds (13/2). I don’t gamble so I don’t really understand the how’s and why’s, but I’ll take the vote of confidence in the Patriots. They also have placed odds on the MVP race.
QB Tom Brady currently leads all NFL players as the odds-on favorite to win the NFL MVP award this season. The odds on Brady winning MVP are currently 4/7, with Eagles QB Michael Vick coming in second with 3/1 odds. Brady’s stats for this season are pretty impressive, especially in terms of efficiency and taking care of the ball. Brady has completed 257 passes on 385 attempts (66.8 completion percentage) for 3,029 yards, 27 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions. His QB rating is 109.5, best in the NFL. Let’s hope that Brady can keep it up and get the Pats back to the Super Bowl and make the odds-makers look smart just this one time!
