Poll: Feelings on Moss Trade

I’m in between work and football practice, so later tonight I’ll have my full reaction and analysis on the Randy Moss-to-Minnesota trade. The Patriots received a 3rd-round draft pick in return for Moss. That’s it as far as I know. Before I get into my reaction tonight, let me know how you feel. To the right of the page (scroll down) is a poll asking your feelings on the Randy Moss trade. It will be open until Friday of next week.

It’s a shame to see Randy go, but I’ve always been more excited about Welker than Randy.

Shame we didn’t grab A.B. when we had the chance.

Good luck to you Randy. Sounds like you have a lot of people you provide for. I certainly respect that as a reason to find the best price on the market.

I think it was a wise decision to trade Randy Moss…

New England has other plans for the team, New England wants to transform the offense and defense. Randy Moss was not apart of that transformation. The coaching staff see’s the team going in a different direction; to be a Super Bowl contender, the team has to function on many different levels. These areas include offense, defense and special teams; Randy Moss is a powerful weapon on offense. However, Randy Moss is not worth a multi-million dollar contract deal. New England wants to get young talent and coach them into stardom.

Randy is a producer. It makes me wonder where this country as a whole is going when someone who does his job to the level that Randy does and still gets the boot. What type of message are we sending to the youth of this country? Do your job really really good and still you’re not good enough. I’ve been a die hard Patriots fan because of the fact that they were always about the team, but this disturbs me. Randy was part of their team and he was a GREAT part of their team and they simply let him go. Granted they have done this before, but with teammates that were great, but have lost a step or two. Moss was still a major producer and a wonderful person who wanted to finish his career as a patriot and they treat him like a worn out rag. I’ve lost a bit of respect for this organization and I’m not sure if I can say they are still my favorite team right now. I’ve stuck with them through thick and thin, but this makes me wonder just how much they really care about the trophy more than the players. Its a bad decision and I for one think it makes a poor statement to our youth and hard working people everywhere.
