AFC BEast Special Teams

Created by Jamie Pacheco with NFL logos

The AFC BEast Dream Team is coming together and getting ready to take on the rest of the divisions of the NFL. The defense is set, so it’s time to show the specialists some love. Kickers and punters are often scoffed at but they can decide a game. Luckily, the AFC East boasts some of the best specialists in the NFL. Without further ado, I present to you the kicker, punter, and return specialist for the AFC BEast:

Kicker: Stephen Gostkowski (Patriots)

Punter: Brian Moorman (Buffalo Bills)

Return Specialist: Terrence McGee (Buffalo Bills)

Stephen Gostkowski is a former Pro Bowler who has been steady ever since having the unenviable task of replacing legend Adam Vinatieri. Aside from being an accurate on field goals, he has a big leg on kick-offs, averaging 67.8 yards per kick-off and had 21 touch backs, good for sixth in the NFL (and third in the AFC) last season. He also made 26 field goals out of 31 attempts (84%) with a long of 53 yards.

Brian Moorman is one the best punters in the NFL, which is really saying something considering the windy conditions he has to kick in in Buffalo. He had the longest punt in the NFL last season (73 yards), was sixth (third on the AFC) with a 46.6-yard average punt, and was eighth (fifth in the AFC) in net average (40.2). In addition, he got 25 punts downed inside the 20-yard line, which tied for fifth best in the AFC.

Terrence McGee has been used less on kick returns as of late due to injuries and a concentration on playing corner, but he is an explosive returner and has great speed.

Check back this weekend for the AFC BEast offense!
