Pats top-ranked franchise

Fox Sports’ Adam Schein has put together his annual ranking of all 32 NFL franchises and, for the second year in a row, has the Patriots ranked as his #1 franchise. Now, before non-Patriots fans get up in arms, the ranking isn’t based on the team’s record or what he predicts they will do this upcoming season. Schein breaks down all 32 franchises down using the following criteria:

  • Owner
  • Front Office
  • Intangibles
  • Coaching Staff
  • Quarterback
  • Head Coach

You can view a video of Schein’s complete breakdown of his ranking for the Pats by clicking here. Here’s what Schein wrote about the Pats:

“New England is on top for a second straight year. Bill Belichick (pictured, middle) is the best coach in the NFL. Tom Brady remains an elite quarterback. Bob Kraft is a marketing genius and savvy enough not to be meddlesome in the football operations.”

I’ll admit that I’m a little surprised here. I thought for sure that it would have been the Raiders because they have been a train wreck for almost a decade now, but Schein gave them some bonus points for releasing JaMarcus Russell and has them ranked 29th.
