After going the decade without holding joint practices with other teams, the New England Patriots will hold two sets of joint practices. The first announced set of joint practices will take place Aug. 17 down in Atlanta with the Falcons. A second set of joint practices has been announced that will take place prior to the trip down to Atlanta. The Pats will host the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints on Aug. 10 two days before the teams will meet in a preseason game at Gillette Stadium. The joint practices will be open to the public, which will spice up the training camp experience for fans. If you have never been to a training camp practice, I highly recommend checking one out. It’s a great experience to see how an NFL team prepares for the season and it’s free. Having the Saints in town will add a whole new dimension, as you will be able to see how the players stack up early on against quality players, and skirmishes are common in these joint practices. What was already going to be an interesting training camp with all of the new players just got a lot more exciting!
