Pats trade up for TE Gronkowski

The New England Patriots traded again, only this time they moved up instead back, and selected TE Rob Gronkowski from Arizona. Gronkowski’s back kept him out of football this past season but it must have checked out OK for the Pats to have moved up to take him. Gronkowski looked ecstatic to be selected by the Pats, and mentioned that he loved the coaches when he visited there in the pre-draft process. This pick is a steal considering that many had Gronkowski going in Round One to either the Pats or the Ravens. Gronkowski runs good routes, has great hands, and can block as well. He is a complete tight end and Tom Brady has to enjoy the selection. Let’s hope that he has better luck than Daniel Graham or Ben Watson did, but he looks like he has a fire in him that Watson seemed to lack.

The Pats still have their other two second-round picks, so that’s good news for them and Pats fans. Pats are back on the clock at 47 so I’ll have more later…
