Pats Add to their Defensive Line

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Carolina Panthers

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Patriots have signed former Carolina defensive tackle Damione Lewis to bolster their defensive line. Lewis was released as free agency began despite starting all 16 games for Carolina. Damione Lewis finished last season with 41 tackles and a half sack. Lewis is 32 years old and looks to be more of a depth signing. For his career, he has 244 tackles and 22.5 sacks. I don’t think the Pats have eyes on him starting at defensive end in a 3-4 or next to Wilfork at DT in a 4-3. Look for more signings as more veterans get cut before and after the draft.
