It’s only week 4 of the 2009 NFL schedule, and all ready the New England Patriots are preparing for another AFC showdown. This week’s match-up with the 3-0 Baltimore Ravens, will not only be the Patriots third AFC conference opponent of the season. It’ll also be their toughest to date, as the high flying Ravens make the short trip to Gillette Stadium.
For all you die hard fans out there, here’s a look at this week’s injury report for both teams, as of Wednesday September 30th. I’ll have more on the current injuries, if and when they become known. Until then don’t forget to [...]

Falcons & Patriots Mini Re-Cap!
After improving their record to 2-1 on the season with their 26-10 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. The New England Patriots have to be feeling very good, at this time. As they did just about everything they needed to do in order to get a win, especially with the cruddy weather conditions at Gillette stadium on Sunday. The running game (168 yards) looked the best it has in a long time. With the attack being led by Fred Taylor, who rushed for 105 yards and his first rushing TD, in a Patriots uniform.
For the most of the game the offense was [...]
NE1’s Zone Picks – Wk 3
It’s week 3 of the 2009 NFL season and I for one am definitely looking forward to this. After the pounding that I took last week with my weekly picks, I’m thinking it’s time for a little redemption. After going 12-4 to open up the season, I received a GIANT kick in the nuts last week. As my picks started falling quickly with the wacky ‘n’ wild week it was.
So without further ado, it’s time to jump back onto the horse and kick-off this week’s edition of NE1’s Zone Picks – for Week 3! As always feel free to drop [...]
The New England Patriots, who are always looking to improve their club, might have just done that. As the Patriots just traded a conditional 7th round draft pick to the Baltimore Ravens. In exchange for the 2010 draft pick, the Pats received linebacker Prescott Burgess in return. This move looks good on paper. As New England only gave up a 7th round pick, and it appears Burgess can help the Patriots in two different areas.
The first area would be the special teams unit. While the other area that Burgess most likely can help out at is linebacker. Especially with the losses the Pats had [...]
As the start of the New England Patriots moves game closer to the opening kick-off. Here’s a few things Patriots fans might want to be watching for this afternoon.
On New England’s Side:
Tom Brady & The Offense:
After last week’s performance when Brady threw for 378 yards, 2 TD’s and 1 almost costly interception. It’s time to see if he’s removed the rustiness that plagued him for pretty much the entire Buffalo game. You could see that he just wasn’t himself early on, especially with all the dropped passes the Patriots had. At first I was thinking it was the receiving core [...]

So without further ado, welcome to NE1’s Zone Picks – Week 2!
Last Week’s Record – 12-4
Overall Record – 12-4

NE1’s Zone Picks – Week 1
With the opening weekend of the 2009 NFL season upon us, it brings me great pleasure and joy to announce it’s time for my weekly picks. Just like in the 2008 season this column will run weekly, throughout the entire regular season. With the only major change being made, is the name of it. As it will now be called “NE1’s Zone Picks”, instead of “Quick Picks” as it was called last season. So without further ado, welcome to NE1’s Zone Picks – Week 1!
Home teams are in CAPS:
NEW ORLEANS over Detroit – 35-17
CAROLINA over Philadelphia – 20-17
Dallas [...]
It was just another calm and peaceful Sunday morning for myself. The house is quiet and I’m really enjoying it and then BAM! My phone starts vibrating and going ballistic, as texts start flying in alerting me of the news. What’s the news you might be wondering? It involves a trade with the New England Patriots, DE Richard Seymour and the Oakland Raiders.
It seems the impossible has just happened as the Patriots trade Seymour to Oakland, for a 2011 first round draft pick. Is this really a shocking move on the part of the Patriots? I’d have to say NO! Especially since [...]
For those of you who might not have yet heard the news, it’s with sadness that I announce the passing of one of our own. John Stephens our former teammate for five seasons in New England, a friend to all and an overall great person. Has passed away at the very young age of 43, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. It’s being reported that while Stephens was driving his pick-up truck, he apparently lost control of his vehicle. Which caused him to crash on a very rural stretch of Louisiana Highway 169, after he ran off the road.
After running [...]
