Love To See Julius Peppers!

Julius Peppers- Photo from upi.comWould the New England Patriots love to see Julius Peppers!  In their uniform yes and yes, the second one is from a fans perspective.  I know I would love to see that happen.  Can it and will it happen though?  It could and might happen but I’m sorry to say that it most unlikely to happen.  But we just never know, especially since the Carolina Panthers can’t seem to make up their minds.  On whether or not to use the franchise tag on Peppers.

But it was released today that Peppers would not sign a long term deal with Carolina.  And also it seems he gave the Panthers a list of four teams he’d be willing to accept a trade to.  Just imagine the possibilities of having Peppers lining up on one side and Richard Seymour on the other end.  Then seeing Jerod Mayo and Adalius Thomas behind them at the linebackers spots.  That could make for an interesting day for any quarterback having to look up and see those faces staring back at him.

Another good piece of news would be that Peppers would not have to wait to long to exact some revenge on his former club.  As the Panthers are on tap to play the Patriots in New England next season.  Might be kind of nice for Peppers to get a few shots at Panthers QB Jake Delhomme and his former mates.  Oh and getting back to those four teams.  The Dallas Cowboys were listed as were two other undisclosed NFC teams.  I know I said there were four teams, and I’ve only mentioned three.

The fourth club is believed to a mysterious AFC team.  Could it be the Patriots?  Time shall tell us soon enough.  But if Peppers wants a better chance of making the playoffs and another Super Bowl.  Then New England just might be the place to be for him.

Maybe he won’t take so many plays off for the Pats. There’s no “exacting revenge” against Carolina. He is just a Carolina kid who wants to explore another city since he has lived in NC all of his life. Maybe he’ll realize that the fans in Boston won’t be so nice when he dominates poor teams and then is a non-factor against good teams, like in SB XXXVIII against the pats….

He don’t want to play the end in a 3-4 he wants to be the outside linebacker and New England just picked up Banta-Cain so I don’t see this happening

Just because the Pats signed Banta-Cain doesn’t mean they can’t go after Peppers also.  You never know when or where the injury bug hits.  So having a safety net (esp at linebacker) is a good thing.

And besides I’ve team pick a player up then turn around and release them.  It happens all the time, plus who wouldn’t want Peppers over Banta-Cain.  I’d take him anyday of the week.

Look at the Pats schedule for next season.  Not to many light teams on there.  And the fans in Boston would love him no matter who/what he dominates.  We love everyone that’s doing their job and earning their paycheck.

And thanks for bringing up SB 38 fans in New England have very fond memories of that night.  But you are correct that Peppers was a non-factor basically the entire game.
