The New England Patriots have been busy filling the vacancies! All of the openings the team filled are either on the coaching side or front office personnel. Shane Waldron has just been named the new tight ends coach for the Patriots. The new director of college scouting is now Jon Robinson. And last but not least Monti Ossenfort was named a national scout for the Patriots.
The Patriots who are well known for hiring within the organization, have done just that again. All three men were with the team in other capacities over the past few years. Waldron who’s a former Tufts grad and currently going on his fifth year with the team. Spent last season as an offensive coaching assistant.
As for Robinson who’s coming into his eight season in the team’s personnel department. He spent his initial years as the area scout before moving on the regional scout back in 2006. Ossenfort who’s in his second stint with the team has previously been a scout and an assistant with the club.
So now that the team has filled the majority of their openings in the coaching/personnel field. It’s time to move on and prepare for the scouting combine which kicks off on the 18th of this month. The Patriots will be monitoring certain players very closely, as they are always looking for the next diamond in the rough.
