The New England Patriots have to be very grateful to have won the game with the Seattle Seahawks. Because they sure didn’t play like a team with playoff aspirations on Sunday in their 24-21 victory. They played more like a team already eliminated from contention, lackluster, and with heart. I’ll say most of the team did anyways, we had a few players that showed the season is still worth fighting for. We can thank Wes Welker and his twelve catches, Stephen Gostkowski (pictured) for his accuracy in the kicking game. And last but not least Brandon Meriweather for doing the job that was required. Meriweather’s sack and force fumble very late in the fourth quarter sealed the win and preserved the day for New England. It’s now time for the week 14 Patriots fantasy recap, so enjoy it and let’s all hope for better results this weekend.
PASSING: Matt Cassel – 26 of 44 for 268 yards – 1 TD
RUSHING: Sammy Morris - 11 for 36 yds & 1 TD – LaMont Jordan - 4 for 18 yds – Kevin Faulk - 3 for 16 yds – Matt Cassel – 7 for 14 yds
RECIEVING: Wes Welker – 12 for 134 yds – Randy Moss - 3 for 56 yds – Jabar Gaffney - 4 for 48 yds – Kevin Faulk – 5 for 22 yds – Sam Aiken - 1 for 6 yds – Ben Watson – 1 for 2 yds & 1 TD
KICKING: Stephen Gostkowski – 3 for 3 Field Goals – 27- 42- 50 yards
DEFENSE: 21 Points Allowed – 1 Sack – 1 Forced Fumble & Recovery
UPCOMING: It’s another West coast game coming up this weekend. This time with the dreadful, but dangerous Oakland Raiders. A team that’s desperate to make a name for themselves by knocking the playoff hopes and life right out of New England. We need to prepare and get ready to face a team that for the most part has a decent defense. And a very dangerous return game with the likes of Johnnie Lee Higgins making things happen on punt and kickoff returns. The special teams for the Patriots will need to step it up this week and contain Higgins and not allow Oakland to have good field position. No excuses, we need this game and some help with either the Dolphins or the Jets losing also. It’s time for team’s to shine and it’s now or never for us.
