Look who’s coming back home, just where he belongs. It’s our old friend in the trenches Rosevelt Colvin. Hello, it’s great to see you back in our uniform. The New England Patriots made the announcement on Wednesday that they have resigned the former linebacker. Colvin was on the practice field this afternoon, and if all goes well, will be playing this Sunday. Colvin is a 10 year veteran having played his first four seasons with the Chicago Bears before joining the Patriots back in 2003. It was perfect timing for Colvin as he gathered not one, but two Super Bowl rings after coming to New England.
With the Patriots being hit early and often with the injury bug this season. The signing of Colvin couldn’t of come at a better time. As Adalius Thomas (Forearm) and Pierre Woods (Jaw) are the most recent players to have been bitten. Both of their game availability are unknown for this weekend. Colvin will help fill the void on the defense, and have the chance to add a few more sacks to his current total of 52.5 sacks on his career. Those 52.5 sacks have him ranked fifth on the active list for all players now. Welcome home, we missed you, now let’s get out their and earn that paycheck. Good luck Rosevelt Colvin and the rest of the Patriots on Sunday. Please be safe, we can’t afford anymore injuries!
