With last week’s overtime loss to the New York Jets now behind us. It’s time for the New England Patriots to get back to business and prepare for a critical showdown with the Miami Dolphins down in sunny Florida. With the division looking like a log jam only separated by one game, this game will have huge playoff implications. But for now it’s time for the Patriots fantasy recap from week 11 of the season.
Week 11 stats for New England:
PASSING: Matt Cassel - 30 of 51 for 400 yards – 3 Touchdowns – 0 Interceptions
RUSHING: Cassel 8 for 62 yds – Kevin Faulk 8 for 38 yds – Sammy Morris 8 for 14 yds – BenJarvus Green-Ellis 2 for 9 yds – Heath Evans 2 for 2 yds
RECIEVING: Wes Welker 7 for 108 yds – Ben Watson 8 for 88 yds 1 TD – Jabar Gaffney 7 for 86 yds 1 TD – Faulk 4 for 49 yds – Sam Aiken 1 for 43 yds – Randy Moss 3 for 26 yds 1 TD
KICKING: Stephen Gostkowski – 3 for 3 Field Goals (31 – 42 – 47 yards) – 2 Extra Pts
DEFENSE: 34 Pts Allowed – 3 Sacks – 0 Int’s - 1 Fumble Recovery
UPCOMING: New England faces off with the Dolphins in week 12. The down and out Oakland Raiders gave the Dolphins a run for their money on Sunday. But as usual the Raiders couldn’t hold onto the lead as kicker Dan Carpenter nailed a 38 yard field goal with under a minute left to play. Carpenter’s kick gave Miami the 17-15 victory and moves them into second place in the AFC East. From what I saw of this game the Dolphins are lucky to have survived, as their play offensively left a sour taste in the mouth of their fans. Once again it was the defense that saved the day for them. But the question is now how many more times can the Dolphins win solely on their defense? It’s sure to be a good one and I for one will not be missing it. WILL YOU?
