So what do we call this game? A tale of two halves? The true showing of Matt Cassel? A Super Bowl favorite in the Pittsburgh Steelers? Those are just a few of the questions that will arise from the beating the New England Patriots just suffered, in the Steelers crushing 33-10 win. So I’ll say it now, you can look now it’s over! Thank god it’s over, that was pretty down right harsh to watch, especially the second half. And what do we lose, besides this game. The chance to climb back into first place with the New York Jets [...]

You Can Look Now It’s Over!
Halftime Quickie!
We’re at the half of the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots game all knotted up at 10-10. It’s time now for a halftime quickie on the sloppy, soggy battle in Foxboro. With the weather playing a major factor in the contest, it’s a slippery game on all sides of the ball. Dropped balls, from both sides have been costly. Both Randy Moss (2 drops) of the Patriots and Santonio Holmes of the Steelers have dropped sure fire touchdowns. Moss’s first drop came midway through the first quarter when he was wide open at the the Steelers 30 yard line. [...]
Overcast and Cloudy!
It’s game day around the league, with the playoff races starting to form and heat up. Playoff aspirations are building for some, and fading for others. I just received the official weather report from deep inside Foxboro. And as of a few minutes ago, it’s overcast and cloudy with a few snow flurries. That works for fans of the New England Patriots as we prepare to face off with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Patriots are in a must win situation today. As we need to keep pace with the Colts and the Ravens in the wild card hunt.
A few things [...]
Week 13’s Top Match-Ups!
So it’s getting close to the end of this Thanksgiving holiday weekend for this year. But we still can rejoice as there’s plenty of football action left on tap. And we all are desperately in NEED of some football, well I should actually say some BETTER football. With the empty and lonely feeling we all felt after Thursday’s games just about diminished. Let’s hope these contests leave us with that “oh so nice feeling” in the pits of our stomachs. It’s now time for week 13’s top match-ups around the NFL. Enjoy the action, as the playoff pictures become clearer for [...]
Giving Thanks!
We all have so many different reasons to be giving thanks right now. For one it’s Thanksgiving, and the NFL gave us three very lousy games scheduled. I mean come on they couldn’t find better teams to play on this holiday. It’s time they discontinued the tradition of the Detroit Lions playing on this day. I’d even go so far as to say get rid of the Dallas Cowboys also. We want games that will entertain us, not bore us like they did today. If we’re going to be forced to continually see these teams at least make the games [...]
Week 13’s Quick Picks
It’s that time of the week again, time for the NFL week 13’s quick picks. After a tough ending with my picks last week, it’s time to start fresh and regroup. With a 10-6 record that now brings the season total to 74 wins, 47 losses and 1 tie. Don’t forget there’s plenty of action on tap for Thanksgiving with three games scheduled. All though they aren’t great marquee match-ups they should still be enjoyable. So enjoy the holiday and remember to be safe, eat plenty and stay awake for all the action this Thanksgiving.
Home teams in bold:

Patriots Fantasy Recap!
I will say that it’s always nicer doing the Patriots fantasy recap after a huge win. Well actually any win at all makes it so much easier and much more enjoyable. We all know by now that the New England Patriots defeated the Miami Dolphins 48-28. The win moves the Patriots to 7-5 on the season and only a game in back of the AFC East leading New York Jets. It’s back to business as usual for the Patriots as they prepare for a very tough opponent this weekend with the Pittsburgh Steelers coming into town. The Steelers are 8-3 [...]
Week 12: Player Of The Game
Vote now for the MusketFire.com Player of the Game!
Congratulations to the New England Patriots Jerod Mayo who was the week 11 player of the game winner! Remember to keep voting each week after the Patriots game. And don’t forget the BIG VOTE at the end of the season for the MusketFire.com Player Of The Year!
Plenty Of Offense!
Was this the best game of the weekend in the NFL? You make that call, based upon what I saw from around the league it was the best. Although the Giants and the Cardinals come a close second. From what we saw in the New England Patriots 48-28 win over our arch rival the Miami Dolphins, was plenty of offense. Just plain good ole pound it out anyway you can football. The Patriots walked away with a much needed win, a win they needed even more since the Jets beat up on Tennessee. We stay within one game of the [...]
What an afternoon for Matt Cassel and Randy Moss. They hooked up for 3 touchdowns and 125 yards receiving. We heard touchdown to Moss called not once, not twice, but three times from the CBS announcers. Moss who’s shown celebrating with teammates Sammy Morris and Wes Welker in the above caption, had a huge breakout game. The New England Patriots defeated the Miami Dolphins by the final score of 48-28 to stay within a game of the division leading New York Jets. The Jets who knocked off the previously unbeaten Tennessee Titans in rather an easy manner. The victory by the [...]
