AUTHOR: Matt DeLucia | IN: Fantasy, Gameday, General NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

Look at this it’s time already for another week of Musket Fire’s week 9’s top match-ups in the NFL.  And it’s HALLOWEEN today, so let’s kick off this weekend, right now!  I’m enjoying this week’s list with a few key games between divisional opponents on tap.  Let’s jump right into the breakdowns!
5 – Arizona (4-3) at St. Louis (2-5)
This will be a great NFC West game, the first of two within five weeks time, that could decide the winner from the West.  True the Rams have been horrible to start the season but if you look division, it’s still any [...]

Week 9’s Quick Picks!

AUTHOR: Matt DeLucia | IN: Fantasy, Gameday, General NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

Welcome to another installment of Musket Fire’s weekly picks.  It’s time for week 9’s quick picks for the NFL schedule.  I came out on fire last week, starting off fast and furious, then the big fizzle happened at the end with a few picks.  With that being said and a record of 7 wins and 7 losses last week for the picks.  It’s time to right the ship, and get back on track seeing my season total is now at 34 wins and 28 losses.
Winners are in bold and home teams in caps:
1 - CHICAGO over Detroit -  30-13
2 – Jacksonville over CINCINNATI -  34-15
3 – [...]

Here It Comes!

AUTHOR: Matt DeLucia | IN: Breaking News, General NFL, Injuries, Rumors | COMMENTS: None Yet

Let’s get right to it, just a few quick notes on this week’s game with the Indianapolis Colts.  Here it comes again folks, another New England Patriots player should be fined as early as Friday.  And for once it’s not Rodney Harrison being fined.  This time it’s defensive tackle Vince Wilfork preparing to empty his wallet a little bit.  The fine is coming from the October 20th victory over the Denver Broncos.  The Broncos not only were stomped in that game, but they cried like little baby girl’s after their poor outing.  They claimed that Wilfork intentionally tried to injure [...]

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Patriots fantasy recap for week 8 of the NFL season.  The New England Patriots have another victory under their belts by defeating the St. Louis Rams by the score 23-16 this past Sunday.  For those of us that were at the game or watched it on television, we know it was a hard fought victory.  To close for comfort at times, but in the end we sealed the deal for another Patriots victory.
Week 8 stats for the New England Patriots:
PASSING:  Matt Cassel – 21 of 33 for 267 yds – 1 TD – [...]

It’s About Time This Happened!

AUTHOR: Matt DeLucia | IN: Gameday, General NFL, Off-Topic/Other | COMMENTS: None Yet

Thank you very much San Francisco 49ers head coach, Mike Singletary.  For doing what’s needed to be done for years to a high priced wanna be, under achiving cry baby star in the NFL.  All I can say is it’s about time this happened in the NFL.  For those of you that have not yet seen or heard what happened in the game between the Seattle Seahawks and 49ers on Sunday, I’ll bring you up to speed.  It’s late in the third quarter with the Seahawks winning 27-6 and the 49ers driving for a score.
The niners tight end Vernon Davis just completes a seven yard [...]

Another Sunday, Another Hard Fought Victory!

AUTHOR: Matt DeLucia | IN: Gameday | COMMENTS: None Yet

To close for comfort for myself, but hey I’ll take the win today.  It’s another Sunday, another hard fought victory for the New England Patriots over the visiting St. Louis Rams.  And in case you don’t already know this, the Patriots are back in first place for this week tied with the Buffalo Bills.  How’s that possible, well I’ll help catch you up on all the happenings.  The Patriots won 23-16 this afternoon, and the Miami Dolphins showed some signs of life on the field and handed the Bills another defeat.  We win, Bills lose and all is right in the AFC [...]

At The Half!

AUTHOR: Matt DeLucia | IN: Gameday | COMMENTS: None Yet

The game has just gone to the half between the New England Patriots and the St. Louis Rams at Foxboro.  So at the half with the score 13-10 in favor of the Patriots, thanks to a Stephen Gostkowski 27 yard field goal as time expires.  It’s been a great game for the first half, neither team has dominated the other.  The Rams have their running game in full motion even without star Steven Jackson in the line-up.  The Rams have been able to run the ball using Antonio Pittman with 10 carries for 44 yards.  With the Rams being able [...]

Keys For A Sunday Victory!

AUTHOR: Matt DeLucia | IN: Gameday | COMMENTS: None Yet

It’s Saturday night and game day is just a few hours down the road for the New England Patriots and the St. Louis Rams in Foxboro.  It’s time for the keys for a Sunday victory, vs the Rams.  We need to keep the momentum moving this week and walk away with another “W” in the win column.
1 – Patriots Passing Game:
The Patriots offense needs to use utilize all aspects on the field on Sunday.  Matt Cassel needs to remain calm and focused, just like he showed for the majority of the Denver Broncos game.  Get Randy Moss and Wes [...]

Week 8’s Top Match-Ups!

AUTHOR: Matt DeLucia | IN: Gameday, General NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

Welcome to Musket Fire’s weekly breakdown of the top games.  Hope you enjoy week 8’s top match-ups for the NFL.
5 – Tampa Bay (5-2) at Dallas (4-3)
Talk about two teams heading in the opposite direction.  The Dallas Cowboys are in reverse since losing two games in a row and star quarterback Tony Romo a few weeks back.  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jeff Garcia are hoping to welcome wide receiver Joey Galloway back this week.  Galloway and Antonio Bryant vs the Cowboys weak secondary should make for a huge passing day for the Bucs.  Ageless wonder Brad Johnson leads the Cowboys at [...]
