Just a quick halftime report on the New England Patriots and the New York Jets game. Matt Cassel helps out his own cause early in the 1st offensive series by connecting with Kevin Faulk and Wes Welker for early first downs. I like the way Cassel’s moving the ball outside of the red-zone. Right now two things that concern me so far, the Patriots inability to score a touchdown after entering the red-zone and the hit that Cassel took late into the second quarter. We need to capitalize on every opportunity we have especially after getting into the red-zone. Settling for field goals against the Jets just isn’t going to cut it. The Jets have already shown they can connect on big plays. As Brett Farve hit Lavernanues Coles for a 54 yard gain that set up their only points of the first half. The Patriots defense needs to tighten up and apply move pressure on Farve and force him into making bad decisions.
One last note Laurence Maroney’s injured shoulder looks like it’ll keep him out of the rest of this game. Which now means we need Sammy Morris and Kevin Faulk to step up their game and take some pressure of Cassel for the Patriots to win this game.
