Just a quick note on some of the league news. We all now by now that the St. Louis Rams have fired head coach Scott Linehan, and replaced him with defensive coordinator Jim Haslett. Haslett who’s been around in the coaching ranks for close to twenty years, last coached the New Orleans Saints from 2000-2005 ending with a record of 45 wins vs 51 losses in his six year tenure. Haslett is the only coach in Saints history to guide them to a playoff win. That win coming back in the 2000 over the St. Louis Rams the team he [...]

League News!
Around The League
It’s Monday and we can now get back to normalcy. The Patriots are back at work after their bye week. Now for news around the league for week 4 of the season. Sunday began with six teams that were undefeated still, but at the end of the day that number is trimmed by two. With both the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys going down in defeat. One more game remains on tap for tonight between the Ravens and the Steelers, we’ll know if it stays at four or leaves us with only three teams undefeated in the league.
The New York [...]
Picks Of The Week!
Welcome to Musket Fire’s picks of the week for the week 4 schedule. We got off to a mediocre start last week going 9-7. Time to do better this week and get the train rolling in the right direction. Remember to check out the week’s top 5 match-ups for my top games.
ATLANTA (2-1) AT CAROLINA (2-1)
The winner of this game combined with a Tampa Bay loss, takes over first place in the NFC South. I like Carolina’s offense with Steve Smith back in the mix and love the way Jonathan Stewart is running the ball so far this yr. Can Ryan and [...]
Week 4’s Top 5 Match-Ups!
It’s time for this week’s installment of top games on tap. Welcome to week 4’s top 5 match-ups for the NFL.
5 – MINNESOTA (1-2) AT TENNESSEE (3-0)
On paper we have two great defenses that have lead their teams weak offenses to victory. Kerry Collins is back at the helm for the Titans and has his team moving in the right direction. Gus Frerotte comes in and leads the Vikings to a win they desperately needed in his first start of the season. I’m actually looking forward to this game, can’t wait to see what Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor can do [...]
It’s Wednesday already, we all know what that means. It’s hump day so to speak. But for a select few in the NFL it’s just another bad news day. Matt Millen is ousted and Plaxico Burress is suspended for the teams week 5 game with Seattle. There’s never a quiet day in the NFL and today is not the exception.
Mean while in Oakland coach Lane Kiffin is also waiting for the hammer to fall. When and where that’s still to be determined. Most reports have it taking place after this week’s game with San Diego. Why after the game and not [...]

Down Right PAT-hetic!
Take a deep breath, relax try and think positive. To hell with that it’s not working. I can’t relax or think positive because today’s game with the Miami Dolphins was down right pathetic. That’s the most positive thing I can say at this time. There’s no need to go re-watch the game to write this article. It’s not like it’s going to change the outcome or make me feel better writing about it. The only thing that might help is a full blown lobotomy.
The Dolphins just man handled the Patriots on all sides of the ball. We allowed them to [...]
At The Half!
WOW is all I can say so far about this game. At the half the Dolphins have man handled the Patriots on all sides of the ball. The Dolphins have come into Foxboro into our house and taken over for the first half. It’s 21-6 and the Patriots have to go in the locker room and figure out how to stop them.
Matt Cassel needs to step up and prove that he belongs in the NFL. From what I’ve seen it so far from Cassel is a qb that hasn’t tried to throw the ball deep at all. Yes the 5 [...]
Today’s Menu Is Fresh Seafood!
Well it’s Sunday morning just after 10:30 and it’s almost time to start the pre-game ritual that I always go through. The fans are already packing it in outside of Gillette Stadium, the grills are being fired up and on today’s menu is fresh seafood. Better known as 100 percent grade A Dolphin, with a nice helping of “Big Tuna” on the side.
Being from New England we all have become accustomed to having the best supply of fresh seafood and today it just gets better for us. I can just imagine what the scene looks like right now at the stadium. The teams are in game [...]
